Catch
Le catch (dérivé de l'expression catch as catch can - attrape-le comme tu peux-, et appelé lutte professionnelle au Canada et professional wrestling en anglais) est un sport-spectacle d'origine américaine qui se déroule sur un ring et qui peut être vu comme un lointain dérivé du pugilat ou de la lutte gréco-romaine, mais qui en diffère énormément dans le sens où les combats sont ici scénarisés. En effet, l'issue de chaque rencontre est déterminée à l'avance par des "bookers" (c'est-à-dire scénaristes), et chaque protagoniste interprète un personnage (caricatures souvent extrêmes et simplistes du "gentil" ou du "méchant", appelées gimmicks) dont le but est avant tout de faire réagir la foule.(source wikipédia)
